Namhae Ferry Terminal

We decided to go to Namhae to eat seafoods but my hubby said that we have traveled too far so just eating and going home makes our shoulders heavy and a little bit disappointed so while we are heading home, we saw a signboard saying Namhae Ferry Terminal so we followed the signs and arrived here.

Although it was already dusk but you can still see the beautiful view of the sea which makes us more relax and comfortable. We thought that we came at the right place because we saw at least a wonderful part of Namhae.

There's also a lighthouse where some people fishing near to it. People seem to have fun fishing and I really wanted to see them catch some fish but my hubby said that we had to leave because it would take several hours to get home.

Truly that Namhae is a beautiful place to visit.

Noah Yacht Tour

One thing that you need to experience when you visit Jejudo is the yacht tour. It's one of my dream to have a yacht tour and it finally came true. I was so excited and wondered what was inside the yacht. It's not cheap to take a yacht but it's different on what I expected. I think I just expected too much. The yacht looks good specially inside. It has complete rooms like a house.

It has a small sink and refrigerator.



A kind of living room with fruits, drinks and snacks on the table. It's free. It's included on the fee. And a piano and guitar that I think used when someone proposed to her loveone.


The room is enough for a group tour.



A bedroom with a big bed and two decks. My slept well here but I couldn't. I went out because I felt dizzy. It's too dizzy to stay inside because of the waves.

The photographs of the actors and actresses who took the yacht were hanging on the entrance. Some of them are Lee Gyong Gyu and Hyeon Young.





Besides from the lifevest, you should also take this shoes before you take the yacht. The shoes are good because you won't slip even when the yacht is wet.



There's also time for fishing where the yacht stops and people can fish. I tried but I couldn't catch any. I realized that it's not easy to fish but it was a good experience.

Seawaves in Jeju Island

There's a typhoon today called Muipa. It's scary because of heavy rain and strong wind. Luckily, it's Sunday and there's no work. My hubby invited me to go out and see the waves. We drove by the sea and sometimes stopped by to watched the seawaves. It's cool. It's another memorable experience here in Jeju Island.















We had fun watching the seawaves but we decided to go home because it was too windy. On our way home, we couldn't see the road well so the cars moved so slow. It was dangerous and thanks God because we arrived home safely.

The typhoon Muipa is still here and according to the news the strongest wind and rain will be at 3p.m. this afternoon. I just hope that it won't make any victims and it will leave peacefully.

Yongduam Rock

Yongduam is a basalt rock formation known as "Dragon Head Rock", is said to have once been a dragon that lived in the Dragon King's Palace beneath the sea, and in its desire to reach heaven, was turned into stone. The submerged body of this oddly shaped structure is the result of the solidification of flowing lava during a volcanic eruption and is about 30m long and its head rising about 10m above the sea.



Two legends exists as to the circumstances that led this dragon to meet its fate here by the sea. In one version, a dragon came to Mt. Halla as the emissary of the Dragon King to gather the elixir of youth. However, the other version asserts that a dragon that was ascending to heaven was said to have grabbed a sacred jade stone in its mouth which had belonged to the guardian of Mt. Halla. In either case, the legend purports that the guardian of Mt. Halla struck the dragon with an arrow causing it to fall into the sea, leaving only the head protruding above the water to eternally wail over its fate. If stared at steadily from about 100m to the west when the waves are moderately high, the dragon's head may seem to roar and sway.

To the east of Dragon Head Rock is Dragon Pool where, it is claimed, this dragon lived.



Located in Yongdam-dong, Jeju City, Yongduam is a rock formation on the shape of a dragon's head. The shape was formed when lava become solid while lava flowing out of a volcano two million years ago. The rock with 10m in height and 30m in length is a local natural culture property. And it's academic value in geology is highly recognized.



Yongduam, a rock showing a writhing dragon with a grudge. According to the legend, a dragon living in the Dragon Kingdom wanted to ascend to heaven, but it wasn't an easy thing to do. Realizing that he could be a real dragon with a precious pearl of the mountain god of Halla, the dragon stole the precious pearl from the god and successfully descended to the valley of Yongyeon. However, he was discovered and shot by the god's arrow while flying. He landed on the beach where he turned into a petrified stone, crying and wreathing with agony and a grudge. Yongduam itself shows a roaring dragon which is about to ascend from the sea. When the day is windy and waves are strong, it will make you feel like a dragon is going spiraling up to the sky. With 30 meters of the body submerged, the 10-meter high tall rock will cast a spell if you steadily gaze it at sunset. The 100-meter point from the rock is one of the best distances if you really want to appreciate Yongduam Rock. In particular, when the waves are splashing, it is the day to watch this rock. It will make you think the world is turning upside down or the dragon is about to rise from the sea, making a roaring sound under the wrath of a god. Located 200-meters south of Yongyeon at Hancheon River, Yongduam is a well-known symbol of Jeju tourism. It attracts a lot of tourists who want to see the shape of the rock.

You'll see some hajuma vendors selling seafoods. It's a kind of restaurant near the sea.



There are lots of customers having seafoods and drinking soju.

Homigot in Pohang

Of all the beaches and sea that I've been in Korea, I think Homigot is the best. The name comes from ho (tiger), mi (tail), and got (small port). If the Korean peninsula is seen as a tiger shape, Homigot (호미곶), in Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do, forms the tail.



What makes this place more unique and famous is because of the hands. One stands in the middle of the plaza and the other one is partway into the sea. The palms of the hands face each other, symbolizing harmony and coexistence.





Since Homigot in Yongilman is located at the farthest east side of the Southern Korean Peninsular, the sun rises earliest at this site. The flame of Eternal Torch has been lighted by the sunlight at Homigot in Yongilman at dawn of the New Millenium, January 1st, 2000. The light along with the flame ignited by the sunlight of the sunset at Byunsan Peninsular and by the sunlight at Fiji Islands of the South Pacific Ocean will be preserved as the Korean People's never dying eternal flame for wishing peaceful unification of Korea and prosperity and welfare of Korean people all over the world.



Incorporating the wishes of three million residents of Gyeosangbokdo and five hundred twenty thousands citizens of Pohang City, this sculpture was proposed by Eui Guen Lee, the governor of Gyeosangbuk-Do and Jang Sik Chung, the mayor of Pohang City and created by the sculptor Sung Kuk Kim, professor of Yeungnam University. This was made possible by the active support of Oh Young Lee, the chairman of the Presidential Commission for the New Millenium and by the sponsorship of Daegu bank.

There's also the Homigot Lighthouse which is 26.4 meters tall, and was designated as Local Cultural Asset #39. Koreans believe that the Korean map resembles a tiger, and the location of Homigot lighthouse is right on the tiger's tail.

The Sea near Muan Airport

I didn't have time to post earlier so here's the continuation of my visit to Muan Airport. From the airport, if you go straight on the way to Mokpo, there's a sea where people can go and enjoy fishing. It's very close to the airport. It's also one of the attractions where people can go to relax or go fishing. If the airport has just became successful, the sea is also a good place for the tourists.

Just watching the people fishing is much fun. I found out that the fishermen use some small shrimps as a bait. They throw them away where they put the hook and the fish will come. I thought they only use worms to put on their hook when they go fishing. I didn't know that they have to spend more for their hobby.

What a lovely day with this wonderful sea.

There are also boats for fishing which made the surroundings more beautiful.
