Christmas in Korea

I finally had the time to decorate my Christmas tree. I did it last Sunday. It's not too late, is it? hehehe...

Sarah, a blogger friend requested me to post something about Christmas here in Korea. I've been living here for more than 6 years now and here's what i've noticed before and during Christmas day. Of course the celebration depends on every side of the country. Here's what i can share.

How Koreans celebrate Christmas? Well, nothing special. Christmas is just like a normal holiday. If not of some Christmas lights, I can't know that Christmas is coming. I rarely hear Christmas songs, no carolings, no Christmas parties (students have), not many lanterns, and no gifts and bonus! Aiiksss.. But before Christmas eve, most people are busy buying Christmas cakes. If the malls are crowded back home, bakeries are crowded here in Korea. We see most people in the street carrying cakes.

Now it's Christmas! I live near downtown and as i look out of the window, it's very quiet. Not too many people outside. I suddenly remember what my students said when i asked them what they gonna do on Christmas day, most of them answered play computer games. No wonder why streets are not crowded on this day.

Will i do the same thing? Will i just celebrate my christmas blogging? Nope, i invited my in laws to come over to my house tonight and we're gonna have ,samgyopsal tonight! Everyone is invited, too! Will you come? hehehehe..
